Open Source Content Management's Appearance Module manages how a website looks. This includes of features like navigation bars, background colors, font size and color, and header and footer graphics. These elements are common to all pages. Appearance templates that are simple script control the appearance of a CMS site. Appearance templates can be built in any HTML editor and then managed by the Appearance Module. This means we can customize the CMS website design as per the need of any corporate maintaining the company and project identity consistently throughout the website.

This Open Source CMS used by Encodex Technologies includes several pre-programmed appearance templates that can be selected when developing a site. The selected source code for the appearance template is then available in the Appearance Module and can be edited by an advanced user if required.

The Appearance Module is designed for advanced users with HTML development experience. Our Team of expert professionals work on this module which is a combination of ASP.NET code and HTML. The ASP.NET code retrieves page information from the Encodex CMS database and inserts it into the appropriate section of the HTML code to create the individual page. Anything that can be built in HTML, DHTML, XML, JavaScript or other browser-based code can be built into an appearance template.

A typical CMS website will only use five or six appearance templates to control the look of the entire site. There will usually be one main template that will call other templates to create the web page. This means that a user can change the way an entire website looks by modifying one appearance template. Each new page that is created in the Architecture Module can be assigned the appropriate appearance template so that the look of each new page can be defined quickly and easily.
