Open Source Content Management Systems, Content Module is
one of the prime feature of the Encodex open source content
management system. It allows the process of building a new
website or Intranet to be separated into multiple activities
that can be performed concurrently by several individuals,
thereby enhancing the site development process. The Content
Module manages everything that appears within the body of
a webpage including static text, graphics and dynamically
generated information such as an events calendar, directory
information, and news articles. Website content is stored
in a database separate from any page appearance or formatting
information. This provides the website owners with the ability
to update and maintain site content without having to know
any programming languages.
Open Source CMS solutions used by Encodex Technologies
is build completely on a Microsoft .Net Architecture, this
enable the Content Module to provide an easy to use Microsoft
editing tool that allows users with no HTML experience to
develop content for each page in a site. Content can be written
and formatted directly in this editing tool, or can be copied
from another application and pasted into the editing area.
Graphics can be imported or selected from the graphics library
and can be formatted within this tool. This gives your content
contributors complete control over site content. Users with
HTML experience can select to manage their site content using
the HTML editor.
The Content Module provides flexibility for
both technical and non-technical users. The feature automatically
tracks every version of each page within a site so that previous
versions can be restored at any time with a click of the mouse.
The system also contains an audit trail of every change that
was made to a site, the user who made the change and when
the change was made.
The Content Module also is where the administration
of the Encodex developed CMS Modules is performed. Each module
can be password protected so that only certain people have
access to administrative functions of each module. Users who
have access can enter data into these modules like the calendar
of events, employee information, news articles, etc. Data
in each module can be added, edited or deleted from within
the Content Module.
